A trip to Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province

On 23 December 2019, a group of committee members from the Collectors Association (Singapore) visited Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, for two primary purposes: firstly, to discuss matters related to the Exhibition of Porcelain Excavated from the Imperial Kilns in Jingdezhen. 

Secondly, to attend the launching of the new book 《Ruixue Hongmei –7501》.

The Association’s committee members visited the Jingdezhen Ceramic Archaeology Research Institute and the Jingdezhen Imperial Porcelain Museum to meet up with the Secretary and Director Professor Jiang Jianxin to discuss about the joint exhibition of porcelain excavated from the Imperial Kilns in Jingdezhen. Agreement was reached after a sincere and friendly discussion to hold the Exhibition in Singapore.

The 9th President of the Collectors Association (Singapore), Mr Lee Choy Ken, published the book titled 《Rui Xue Hong Mei –7501》, detailing the classic porcelain used by Chairman Mao Zedong, a highly valued porcelain that has a profound meaning recognized by people from all walks of life. Many people attended the new book launching, including officials from relevant departments, celebrities and masters of ceramics arts, ceramic and porcelain collectors, and Association Council members. It was a rare event with profound significance in the Chinese history.
